Hanami Dango

Dango is a Japanese sweet made of small little sweet balls made of sticky rice flour. They are served on a wooden stick.

Hanami dango is a kind of dango, made of three balls, one that is pink, one that is white, and one that is green. The pink one is Strawberry flavored. The white one is nature, and the green one is matcha (Green tea) flavored.

Hanami dango is often eaten during the time of cherry blossoms in Japan. Hanami in Japanese means "to watch the cherry blossoms",  hanami is actually the celebration of cherry blossoms (Late March - Begin of April). And dango is the sweet made of little balls. So hanami dango is the dango eaten during the hanami (celebration of cherry blossoms).

I never tasted it, but I plan to try it when i'll go to Japan in March 2020. Hanami dango looks delicious! Especially the pink ball! (I love strawberry flavor xD)

What do you think?

  1. After watching Clannad, I always think of the dango song when I see dango. (´• ω •`)

I definitely should make dango, someday. :3 I used to bake so much, as a child... or it feels like it, anyway, even if it probably wasn't all that often, after all. Will you post your own recipes of food or pastries, by the way...? Maybe you could put up various favourites of yours.
