Yes, SNSD again, lol. This time it is ENGLISH COVERS by SNSD girls. Each member sang a cover of an english-language song. I think their english is very good and their covers are better than the originals, in my opinion. Heres the songs and my opinion on each song afterwards.
Yuri - Cover of "If" (originally by Janet Jackson)
Yoona - 4 Minutes Cover (Originally by Madonna, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland
HyoYeon - Don't Stop The Music Cover original by Rihanna :
Sooyoung - Sway Cover (Original by Dean Martin):
Sunny - Three (Original by Britney Spears) :
Jessica - Almost Cover (Original by Tamia)
Seohyun - Stuff Like That There (Betty Hutton cover) :
And finally: Taeyeon and Tiffany - Lady Marmalade Cover (original by Bob Crewe and Kenny Nolan) :
My opinion:
Yuri - If : My fav cover of Yuri!! Her cover is very catchy!! I love the badass electric guitar at the start, and Yuri's low voice on the first verse. The chorus is amazing too! Better than the original song, for me.
Yoona - 4 Minutes : Very catchy also!! Yoona's low vocals on the verses sound mysterious and charismatic. The chorus when she sings "If you want it, you already got it..." she sounds so swag in that part!! Great cover and nice English skills.
Hyoyeon - Don't Stop The Music : Better than the original as well! Very catchy song that makes you get up and dance, and the breakdown with the electric guitar near the end is amazing!! And she has a good english pronounciation.
Sunny - Three : The chorus is very catchy. Sunny's aegyo voice (girly voice) fits well with this song, oddly. It's also a cover that makes you want to get up and dance!
Sooyoung - Sway : Very romantic sounding cover and Sooyoung's vocals in this are melodious, graceful and has romantic vibes. Her high note after the first chorus " Meee!" is amazing! This song made me realize Sooyoung can sing well! Her english is very good too.
Jessica - Almost : Beautiful cover, a nice ballad with Jessica's beautiful clear and sweet vocals.
Seohyun - Stuff Like That There : The cover starts gently with a slow verse and Seohyun's gentle voice, then the chorus is upbeat!! and some parts of the chorus are made to be sang very fast, but Seohyun handle it well! She could sing fast, and IN ENGLISH! (which is not her native tongue). But she nailed it! good job Seohyun
Tiffany and Taeyeon - Lady Marmalade : OMG The vocals!! Powerful vocals, amazing high notes, they nailed that cover!! I also like the french part ("voulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir") they pronounce it very well ^^
Oh that cover of Don't Stop The Music is really spot-on with respect to the original! It's actually a bit tough to tell the cover apart from its source material.
